Leverage your 3D CAD Data in your Manufacturing Process Documentation to Improve Quality and Save Time!

New Visualization Academy Course Offering:  Current Trends in Process Documentation

Your engineering team has done their job and designed a great new product but now how do you make sure that great new design gets built properly?  Effective communication of the design to your production team is an imperative!

It used to be that any documentation used by the production area had to be created by the engineering department. Not only does this create an added burden on the engineering team, it also can slow down the whole production process. In order to save time and money, many companies simply scale back on this process documentation or eliminate it all together. The results of this lack of proper documentation can be disastrous.

Proper process documentation and easy to understand instructions can actually serve to speed up the production process by helping speed up training, decrease reworks, reduce errors, and improve quality.  New methodologies of presenting instructions and new software tools, such as 3DVIA Composer, now allow both engineering and non-engineering personel the same ability to leverage existing CAD data quickly and easily.  Documentation time and costs can actual be dramatically decreased with some of these new methods.

Visualization Academy now offers a class dedicated specifically to examining the current trends and best methodologies of leveraging your existing engineering information to improve your production and manufacturing processes. This one-day class (or 3wk evening session) takes a look at the current trends in process documentation being used today for things such as 2D & 3D assembly instructions, service manuals, and interactive manufacturing instructions.

Check out this great video of Beckman Coulter is able to take advantage of newer documentation tools to utilize their CAD files for an easy to understand video of an assembly procedure.

While individuals within your engineering group can greatly benefit from this class, this is also a great course for managers of technical writing groups, operation managers, manufacturing engineers or any other key users in organizations challenged by management to increase the efficiencies of production.

Offered By:  Visualization Academy

Location: Edina, MN
